Peshwa Bajirao March 29 Written Update: Will Rukmini Bai get away with her scheme?

Balaji asks Rukmini why she had gone towards the library to which Rukmini says she had gone there to look for Balaji as he had said he wanted to make a list of things to buy for the pooja the following day. Baji asks her why she was running, if all she wanted to do was to find Balaji Vishwanath. Rukmini says that it was because she was feeling bilious due to her pregnancy. RadhaBai and Balaji tell her not to strain her body and get ample amount of rest. Baji thinks to himself that if Rukmini was merely feeling uneasy and nauseous then she should have run with her hand on her mouth and not her stomach. Balaji Vishwanath explains the Gudi Padwa celebrations to the children and Rukmini Bai gives Baji a cunning look.

As RadhaBai is drawing the rangoli, a woman asks her to sing as it is well known and heard off that RadhaBai sings like a nightingale. Tarabai on hearing RadhaBai’s voice,says that she sings right from her heart and is happy to hear that she is none other than Balaji Vishwanath’s wife. RadhaBai greets Tarabai. Tarabai smiles and then walks towards ShiuBai. ShiuBai tells Tarabai that her daughter Kashi will be performing in that night’s celebration.

Baji keeps an eye on Rukmini and as he is following her, happens to lose her in the chaos. Rukmini finds the niche wherein Tarabai and Raje Saheb usually escape from. Rukmini says to herself that Qamar-ud-in is a genius and Balaji Vishwanath a fool for not realising her scheme. She recalls her conspiracy of having stuffed all the gudi’s with dynamite so that on being ignited on Gudi Padwa they will all burst. Just as Rukmini Bai is about to leave to join the celebration, the pot from her hands falls and shatters into pieces. She hears footsteps and hides behind a pillar. Baji arrives in search of Rukmini but does not find her.  Rukmini is angered by Baji’s intelligence and decides that it is time she teaches him a lesson.

Baji tells his sister that he is wondering as to why Rukmini is lying to everybody.  When Baji tells her that he feels Rukmini is weird, his sister tells him that Rukmini’s stomach makes strange noises as though a pot is stuffed in her stomach. Baji then sends his sister to Rukmini to check whether she is pregnant or not. Baji realises that Rukmini is not pregnant and calls out to his sister. Rukmini tells the siblings that she has made them Kokam Sarbat. Baji drinks the Kokam Sarbat in one go and as the siblings walk out, Baji faints and falls to the ground. Rukmini watches on and is happy that her attempt to kill Baji is showing colour.

Balaji Vishwanath and Dhanaji are talking about their scheming enemies. Just then Tarabai appears and Dhanaji does not caution her off the threat the Marathas are facing. Baji appears out of nowhere and explains Rukmini’s situation to everybody. He also tells Dhanaji that he only escaped dying at Rukmini’s hands by drinking a juice made up of an Ayurveda recipe taught to him by his mother. Dhanaji is impressed. Baji then guides Dhanaji and Balaji Vishwanath to the spot where he last saw the broken pot. Dhanaji wonders why Rukmini had gone there to the room where Tarabai and Raje Saheb would escape in order to be safe in case the enemies attack.

Dhanaji orders everybody to look for Rukmini but Balaji refutes this. He says that they must play it smart and figure out a way to trap her in her own net. ShiuBai and RadhaBai interact with one another. ShiuBai tries to belittle RadhaBai but RadhaBai manages to dodge the bullet. They then talk about KashiBai and her mother, ShiuBai, praises her. As RadhaBai is telling ShiuBai about how Baji has fainted, Rukmini overhears the conversation and tries to figure out a way to kill Baji.

Balaji on the other hand places pillows in place of Baji’s body on a bed to portray to Rukmini that her scheme has worked. To this Baji tells him that instead of a pretend Baji’s body, Baji himself should lay down there as he is a courageous warrior. Rukmini Bai enters the room in which Baji is sleeping and Baji looks at her.
