The March 20 episode of Peshwa Bajirao is full of twists and turns where Baji and his friends are abducted by the Dandaks and Aurangzeb plans to attack the Marathas on Gudi Padwa.
The show begins with Radhabai lying on the ground, helpless as a poisonous snake has bitten her. A horse is lingering above her, and Radhabai wakes up thinking it is Baji who has come to her rescue. She gains the determination to get onto the horse and rides back to her home on the horse. Meanwhile Baji and the other kids are being dragged through a dungeon and suddenly the scene shifts to the courtroom of Tara Bai wherein Bai Saheb is addressing Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath and congratulating him on having raised a courageous son who fears no barriers.
Amidst conversation, a minister in the courtroom provides Tara Bai saheb with the information that Aurangzeb (Mughal Emperor) has plans of attacking the Maratha Kingdom on the auspicious day of Gudi Padwa. Balaji Vishwanath says that even though this news has surfaced, Gudi Padwa must be celebrated with as much pomp as it would have been earlier. He further says that it his son Baji Rao Peshwa who has taught him that before defeating one’s enemy one must defeat his own fear to succeed in any endeavor and hence they must not bow down to the fear of the Mughals and not celebrate Gudi Padwa. Bai Saheb agrees and says that Gudi Padwa will be celebrated and on the last day, the Mughals will face the attacks of the Marathas. Back at their home, Radhabai wakes up to be greeted by her mother-in-law who tells her that Baji and the other kids have not been abducted by ‘dakus’ but by a dandak who enjoys inflicting others with pain.
Radhabai even though extremely weak decides to go and save her children from the clutches of the dandak. Back in the dandak’s cave, Baji along with the other kids are told to perform actions that go against their beliefs. Baji stands up against this and raises his voice against the dandak. He raises his voice and says that he will never perform any punishment that goes against his mother’s teachings. This agitates the dandak and he hits Baji’s friend, Gotya, after which Baji agrees to do any work that the dandak asks him to do. We then see the Mughals discussing the attacks at Satara and then subsequently planning their attack on the Maratha Empire on the day of Gudi Padwa wherein they intend on killing Tara Bai. The Dandak meanwhile continues to torture Baji and the kids and they are made to carry around heavy logs of wood on their tiny shoulders. Gotya falls while doing so and the dandak’s men threaten to kill him. Baji stands up for his friend and says that if anyone is to die it will be him. We then see the brave and strong Baji doing gotya’s share of the work and carrying logs of wood. The show ends on a positive note where the kids plan on figuring out a way to get out of the dandak’s clutches! Stay tuned for more!
