With beauty brands like Huda Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Fenty Beauty, matte lips have become the new sensation. Kylie cosmetics has churned up a net worth of a whopping 900 million US dollars in the mere time span of 3 years with their best seller being the Kylie Lip Kit.
From Kylie to our very own PeeCee, celebrities from around the world have helped popularise this beauty trend, which they pull off so effortlessly. Little did we know the woes of wearing a matte lip until we tried it!
Back when they were just getting famous, chapped lips to powdery textures - everyone was bothered by these! Be it a liquid lipstick, soft cream or matte formula, matte lips were hard to handle unless you spent big bucks on it.
So beauty gurus from around the world came up with tricks to nail matte in a way that wasn't just hassle free but easy on pockets too! Here's Youtuber Stephanie Lange
To turn any lipstick to matte finish follow these steps:
1. Apply a lip primer or dab on a concealer for full coverage.
2. Use a lip liner for the perfect shape and fill it in.
3. Apply your lipstick or liquid lipstick like you normally would.
4. Take a regular tissue and separate it's layers.
5. Take the thinnest layer of tissue and place it on your lip, to allow it to absorb all the shine.
6. To further mattify: place the tissue on your lip and with a puffy makeup brushes pat on some translucent powder or unscented talcum powder very lightly.
7. Brush of excess lightly, remove the tissue and you're good to go!
This method not only ensures you to get a matte lip without having to spend a lot of money but also lets you customize a favourite shade of lipstick to any intensity of matte you want!
