TVF sexual assault case: Mumbai Police to close the probe as victims fail to come forward
Following the no-show of unverified complainants, Mumbai Police is most likely to close the molestation case against TVF CEO Arunabh Kumar.
In an unexpected turn to the molestation case against The Viral Fever (TVF) founder Arunabh Kumar, reports are that Mumbai Police are most likely to close its investigation and the reason will shock you.
It’s been 10 days since the complaint was filed against Kumar, however, no victim out of those more than 50 anonymous complainants have officially come forward to report the harassment, a news portal claimed.
Lawyer, Rizwan Siddiqui who had filed the third-person first information report a few days back has requested the Police thrice to lodge an FIR, but in the absence of a victim, the cops are not even able to go ahead with the proceedings.
Sources told a popular news portal that in the light of present circumstances, the probe will be closed by this week itself. The cops cannot consider the allegations made on social media reliable and will soon be informing Siddiqui that they are dropping the case.
Apparently, the police are now doubtful about the existence of the original victim ‘The Indian Fowler’ who had first alleged being sexually harassed by Kumar in a blog post on Medium.com.
Kumar wouldn’t even be called to register a statement at the police station for he is not officially accused as of now, a Mumbai Police officer told the portal.
The source also informed that in case a victim comes forward at this juncture as well, an FIR will immediately be filed.
Meanwhile, TVF has maintained its stand and has termed these allegations to be “defamatory” and “ludicrious.”
