TVF molestation case: Arunabh Kumar summoned by Mumbai police
Arunabh Kumar has been summoned by the Mumbai police for recording of his statement.
TVF founder and CEO Arunabh Kumar recently hit headlines after a woman who claimed to be a former employee of TVF alleged the former of sexually harassing her during her stint at the company.
Hours later, many women came forward sharing their experience working with Arunabh and accused him of sexually harassing them. However, Arunabh in an interview to a leading tabloid had denied all those accusations and had challenged the woman to file the case regarding the same.
He had also said that if he finds a woman sexy. he tells her that she is sexy. "Does that make me a molester?" he asked.
Now, according to a leading tabloid, Mumbai police has summoned Arunabh to record his statement. The police have apparently informed the TVF office that Arunabh must come to the MIDC police station to record his statement. Criminal lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, who filed the FIR against Kumar, will be also be questioned in the case.
Siddiqui also accused the Mumbai police of having a lackadaisical approach towards the case. "It is quite sad to place on record that the senior inspector of MIDC police station has still not registered the FIR despite full knowledge that all FIRs falling under Section 354 (molestation) have to be recorded immediately. As a matter of fact, the inspector is to be punished with imprisonment if he fails to perform his duty. This failure on his part is giving the accused sufficient time to tamper with evidence," said Siddiqui.
The Mumbai police are currently also trying to track down the victims through social media or other means.
