Oscar 2018: Rita Moreno repeats her 1962 Oscars gown in 2018
Miss Moreno won the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award for ‘West Side Story’ at Oscars 2018
Oscars have to be the most awaited entertainment award show that everyone looks forward to. The much awaited Academy Awards was held in Los Angeles today. It is the oldest worldwide entertainment awards ceremony and is held to honour the cinematic achievements of the Hollywood fraternity in the year gone by. This was the 90th edition of the esteemed award function. However, one of the highlights of the Academy Awards was Rita Moreno who graciously recycled her 1962 Oscar outfit and wore the same outfit with equal elegance and elan.
The legendary actress wore a black and gold ballroom gown which had a fitted black corset bodice and an elaborate attached skirt with huge prints in gold. She wore long black gloves, a black bandana and a black and gold choker. She picked up the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award for ‘West Side Story’.
Moreno, 86, had revealed, how her skirt of the outfit was made up of a single piece of ‘obi’ fabric which is traditionally used to make kimonos. Back in 1962 she kept it minimal bangs and defined winged eyeliner, however, this time around she got her outfit tweaked a bit and made it strapless. “Wait till you see what I’m wearing!!!” Ms. Moreno tweeted late last month. “I would think it would tarnish,” Ms. Moreno, 86, told Ryan Seacrest, who was hosting the red carpet. She is also one of just 12 people to hold an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony)
It was quite an adorable gesture. What do you guys think?
