Venom 2: Andy Serkis to helm Spider Man spinoff sequel starring Tom Hardy; Teases plot with THIS comic book
Venom 2 has roped in Andy Serkis to helm the Tom Hardy starrer. The Black Panther actor took to Instagram to confirm his addition to the project.
It's official, Venom 2 has found its director in Black Panther and Avengers: Age of Ultron actor Andy Serkis. The international actor-director will continue to tell the tale of the symbiotic alien in the Spider-Man spinoff movie. The confirmation comes weeks after it was revealed that the actor-filmmaker was in the running for the helm Venom sequel. It was reported that he was in the running alongside Bumblebee director Travis Knight and Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt.
Andy's inclusion in the project comes weeks after the franchise makers announced that Tom Hardy will be reprising the role of Venom aka Eddie Brock in Venom 2. Andy took to social media to confirm that he will be taking charge behind-the-camera. The actor posed with a comic book of Venom and teased the possible story of the movie. He was holding on to a copy of Venom: Lethal Protector #6.
He shared the picture with the caption, "It’s actually happening. I can feel it, the Symbiote has found a host in me, and I’m ready for the ride...Can’t wait! Are you ready @tomhardy ?" Check out his post below:

While it is great news for fans, we are curious to know if Tom Holland would reprise the role of Spider-Man in the Venom sequel. Venom is after all from the Spider-Man comics. Fans were hoping they would cross paths in Venom. However, their expectations were met with disappointments. But this hasn't stopped us from hoping for a Spider-Man vs Venom sequence taking place in Venom 2. Venom 2 is slated for release on October 2, 2020.
