Hobbs & Shaw LEAKED: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham's Fast & Furious spinoff leaks online before its release
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw releases in theatres tomorrow. However, the Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba starrer has leaked online a day before its release.
Trouble for Universal Pictures for Hobbs & Shaw has leaked online. Yes, you read it right. The Fast & Furious spinoff, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the lead, is set to release tomorrow. The movie also stars Idris Elba in the lead. The trailers have generated quite a buzz among viewers and reviews have overall been positive. However, it comes as a huge sign of trouble for the makers that the movie has leaked online a day before its theatrical release. The full version of Hobbs & Shaw is available on YouTube already. The leak is bound to impact the opening day and the opening weekend box office collection of the David Leitch directorial.
While this isn't the first time that a movie has been hit by the leak, it is shocking that the movie has made its way to the internet even before its release. There have been several Hollywood movies which have leaked online previously. Recently released The Lion King and Spider-Man: Far From Home, summer releases Avengers: Endgame and Aladdin and earlier this year, Captain Marvel were leaked online. The movie was shared by Tamilrockers in India. Meanwhile, it is to see how the studio and the makers manage to curb the spread of the online version and reduce the impact of the leak on the release.
Hobbs & Shaw has good reviews from international and domestic critics. The movie has an 82 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with a mark of fresh on it. Pinkvilla has given Hobbs & Shaw a rating of 3.5 and reviewed, "Directed by David Leitch, whose directing credits include Deadpool 2 (*wink, wink*), has cleverly used the strengths of Dwayne and Jason. He's brought out the trash-talking Rock and The Transporter's Statham to play and give us a wildly entertaining film that is worth every penny."
