Jodha-Akbar: Ruqaiya Begum's plan to run down Jodha Begum is very filthy indeed
Not the one to calm down after taking defeat at the hands of her adversary, Jodha Begum, Jalal’s most influential Begum, Ruqaiya, has a plan at work to spoil the goodwill of her rival.
Now that Jodha Begum has been voted as the new in-charge of the Mughal Harem, Ruqaiya Begum is not able to watch losing her power to the Emperor’s new favourite. Even other Begums and maids are looking up to Jodha to root out all the issues of the Harem. But only if Ruqaiya Begum would let these hopes materialise. In the latest episode, the sudden appearance of Lord Krishna’s idol in the female servant quarters shocked everyone. While the Hindu maids were highly pleased to receive the idol for worship, the Mughal women like Maham Anga and others were displeased to see the rule of Mughal Harem broken down by Jodha Begum. As per the Harem rules, no one is allowed to practice any other religion except Islam. Only Jodha Begum stood out as an exception to this rule by Jalal’s grace.
Apparently, all fingers were raised at Jodha Begum’s lawlessness even without making an enquiry into the matter to know the truth. This is a serious problem for Jodha Begum as messing up with the rules of Mughal Empire is a punishable offence. But will Jodha be able to save herself from this conspiracy? Will Ruqaiya Begum be able to get back at Jodha with her vicious plan? Will Jalal’s trust in Jodha get misplaced after her ‘crime’?
