'Hum Paanch' fame actress Shoma Anand is the new Maham Anga of Television!
Television and film actress Shoma Anand who never failed to impress audiences with her versatility, returns to the small screen after a long gap. The actress who has experimented with varied characters will now entertain her fans by entering the Mughal era as Emperor Akbar’s caretaker Maham Anga in BIG Magic’s 'Hazir Jawab Birbal'.
Remembered for her kickass comedy on the small screen as well as silver screen, the actress will now play a grey shade with a pinch of humor on Hazir Jawab Birbal. Catch the all new episodes of 'Hazir Jawab Birbal'.
Commenting on her comeback, Shoma Anand said, “When I was offered this role I just asked one question ‘how is this different from my previous roles?’. My director made me understand that this time Maham Anga is different, she has all shades in it. In audience perception, Maham Anga is negative but my character cracks jokes, she is emotional and she that grey shade as well. The role I am playing is very different from what I have played in past. After a sabbatical of almost 2 years, I feel this is the right platform for me to start with. The best part of shooting is all the actors on the sets are amazing and very cooperative. Regardless of the fact that I am senior to most of them, we share a very good rapport.”
Hazir Jawab Birbal has brought in a high degree of humour with cutting edge, quirky, irreverent, relatable and youthful content. It is in line with BIG Magic’s positioning of providing comedy based edgy and contemporary content, reaching a young and youthful India. Popular TV personality Gaurav Khanna plays the protagonist, Birbal and Saurabh Raj Jain features as Akbar.
