Shivya Pathania on Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush: Fortunate to play Sita onscreen, opted for a modern outlook
Shivya Pathania of Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush fame opens up on playing Sita, feminism and more. Read her exclusive interview.
Colors is bringing back Ramayan from the prism of Luv and Kush in their upcoming show Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush. Joining them as Sita is Shivya Pathania, who is very excited for playing the divine character. "Never in my wildest dream did I think that I will get an opportunity to play Sita, I am super elated," Shivya exclaimed in an exclusive chat with Pinvkilla. She also expressed her excitement of bringing back the biggest mythology with a modern outlook which will "make it relatable" to the youth.
When asked Shivya if she concurs or resonates with the "act of sacrifice" by Sita as written in mythological books, Shivya shared that even she had a few reservations and apprehensions on the character, but then she read in detail and understood how things unfolded then. "The exilement for 14 years was not something which was enforced on her, it was something she wanted to do. Similarly, when her character was questioned by society, she decided to take things in her hands and set an example by going on an exile until her sanctity isn't proven. Ram never questioned her character but he was bounded by his responsibilities as a King." She also added that once people watch the show, they will understand the situation better.
Shivya also said that she feels fortunate that she was chosen to play Sita and she doesn't care about the TRPs as much. Citing her father's words to her, Shivya said, "My father told me I should leave everything up to God and let the things unfold organically."
The show has gone on air from August 5.
