Band of Boys singer & TV actor Karan Oberoi's alleged accuser arrested; Here's why
Woman who had accused actor Karan Oberoi of sedating and raping her has been arrested by the police for false allegations
Around a month back, Band of Boys singer and TV actor Karan Oberoi was accused by a woman of sedating and raping her. The woman, an astrologer by profession, had alleged that on the pretext of marriage Karan had sedated her and then raped her, while filming the act. According to reports, the woman had also alleged that he blackmailed her with the video and tried to extort money from her. She filed a FIR about the incident on 6th of May.
On 25th of May, the woman returned to inform the police that she had been attacked by 2 masked men on a bike. Apparently, they attacked her with a paper cutter, threatened to throw acid on her and threw a chit on her which said: ‘take back the case’. As per a latest report in TOI, the attack was pre-planned by the woman. Moreover, when the 2 men on the bike were arrested, one of them confessed that he was the cousin of her lawyer and was paid money to carry out the attack. The lawyer has also revealed the same, however the woman is now accusing her lawyer of framing her.
The woman in question has been arrested over false allegations and for helping orchestrate an attack on herself. She is pleading innocent and has allegedly written to the commissioner and the Oshiwara police claiming the same. Meanwhile, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi fame Karan Oberoi, along with best friend and former actress Pooja Bedi, are taking a stand on social media to expose women who lie about such crimes for their benefit. They have started the hashtag ‘Men Too’ and recently attended a peaceful Dharna at Azad Maidan for the same.
