High Blood Pressure aka Hypertension is one of the common ailments that people across the world face. In this condition, the pressure of blood against sides of blood vessels is higher than the normal. If left untreated the blood vessels can be damaged and other vital organs of our body i.e. heart, brain, eyes and kidneys can be damaged too. But fortunately, aside from medications, there are many natural ways which can help you to bring blood pressure to healthy levels.

One of the common and best ways is reducing the salt and sodium-rich foods' intake. Increase in potassium-rich foods, physical activity, losing weight, cutting down on alcohol, caffeine, and smoking are some of the other lifestyle changes one should do to lower BP levels. As per the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute study, consumption of low-fat dairy products can combat this health issue too.

The research which was published in Hypertension: Journal of the American Heart Association had conducted the same on five thousand men and women. As per researchers, those who had more than three servings of milk and dairy products per day had around 36 percent less likely to have high BP than those who had less dairy. And ideally, one should go for low-fat dairy to reap the maximum.

Speaking of hypertension, the same is also known as a silent killer as the symptoms of the disorder are easily missable. And that's why it is very important to have routine check-ups to know the BP readings. For the unversed, if the readings are 140/90mmHg or higher then you are suffering from hypertension.
