Eating healthy and exercising regularly are some of the best ways to prevent and keep BP levels low.

Also, high BP patients should lower the intake of salt (sodium) as the spikes the BP level. To negate the effects of sodium in our body one should include potassium-rich foods such as bananas, oranges, raisins, dates, spinach, broccoli, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes and low-fat dairy products.

As per a paper published in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, consumption of cinnamon led to reduction of systolic blood pressure by 5.39 mm.

One can add cinnamon powder in everyday foods as a flavoring agent. Also, one should avoid the misuse of it by overeating as it can backfire and lead to some other health complication instead of lowering hypertension. Aside from lowering BP, the spice also helps in reducing the risk of heart ailments. It also helps diabetics as it has anti-diabetic properties in it which reduces blood sugar levels.

Also, the antiviral and antifungal properties help to bring instant relief from the common cold, lung congestion and clearing mucus others.

It also aids in weight loss, as it helps to bring down the inflammation in the body. The antioxidants play the role in the same as it fights with free radicals and oxidative damage.

Other ways to lower BP

If you are a hypertension patient then you should cut down the intake of alcohol and reduce smoking. Increase the number of fruits and veggies in your diet and complement it with daily workout sessions.
