Taylor Swift opts for shimmery shorts and pastel colours at her song release party

Taylor Swift made a whimsical style statement as she went out to promote her latest single You Need To Calm Down at a Gay Bar in New York City recently. The song is supposed to be aimed at anti-LGBTQ rights activists and has been receiving appreciation within the community. 

For the promotion of her song, the singer opted for pastel shades while adding a touch of sparkle to her outfit. 

She picked out a poppy pink Grain de Poudre blazer by Saint Laurent. She paired this with a pink silk top with star prints from the same brand.

To this light coloured outfit, she added a touch of sparkle with silver sequinned shorts by IRO and completed her outfit with a simple pair of peep-toe colourblock block heels by Kat Maconie which featured a dark green colour material around the toe and a pink coloured platform. The ankle straps had an added floral material attached to it. 

Her hair was pulled back in to a ponytail with her bangs loose on her forehead. Her classic red lips and well-lined eyes ensured she looked approporiate for the event. 

The singer announced her latest album Lover would be out on August 23 and also that she was collaborating with designer Stella McCartney to launch a new line! She said that she respects McCartney and has been friends with the designer for a while now. "There's so much whimsy and imagination and romance to the clothing that she designs. I've worn a lot of her stuff recently and she's heard the new album, and this new collaboration is inspired by the Love album," she said.
