Rihanna and LVMH to put a 'hold on' to Fenty ready to wear luxury fashion label pending better conditions
Rihanna’s luxury fashion label, Fenty is to discontinue its' RTW line due to supply chain issues. Read on to know the inside details.
Singer, actress and a businesswoman, Rihanna is the all-rounder turning everything she touches into gold. She was the first woman of colour to lead a fashion house under the French conglomerate, LVMH ( Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton). Launched in the Spring of 2019, Fenty reflected the values of inclusivity and diversity and effortlessly chimed with the likes of today’s youth. Although Rihanna’s loyal fanbase loved the brand, most found the prices too steep to get a hold on. The brand showcased extraordinarily footwear, denim items and eyewear collections but no new launch was brought it since November 2020 and the brand’s Instagram account was frozen since the beginning of this year.
A joint decision by Rihanna and LVMH was made as the high-end fashion house announced today to cease the operations of Fenty ready to wear fashion line. The challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic taking a toll on Fenty’s supply chain and dramatic dip in fashion sales are the reasons for Fenty hitting the pause button but it may not be forever. The e-commerce site is expected to go dark in the next few weeks and fans of the brand or can I say that the world is shocked hearing this news. The above decision is only for the ready to wear line while Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty, lingerie line and Fenty Skin will run the show unaffected as both are doing successfully in the industry.
Rihanna’s career in the fashion world has been as successful as her journey in the music industry though this little halt has popped so many questions. Let’s wait and see how it unfolds.
