MET Gala 2019: Throwback to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s stunning red carpet looks

The most awaited fashion event of the year - the MET Gala is just around the corner, literally! This is probably the only event wherein all our favourite celebrities and the big wheels of the industry let their creativity take center stage. The ball which is held every year on the first Monday of May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Institute, New York will take place on the 6th of May. Adding icing to our already oozing excitement is the fact that our very own desi girl, Priyanka Chopra is on the esteemed Benefit committee along with husband, Nick Jonas.

The theme for this year is Camp: Notes on Fashion and TBH we cannot wait to see the looks that’ll be served to us this Monday. Flagging and taking India on the World map at this prestigious Gala are Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. When they walked down the MET stage it seemed like the International media paused for a bit and took a while to process their divine beauty.

Both these beauties have always managed to impress the World with they’re impeccable fashion sense and their super confident nature. With the countdown of the Ball already begun, let’s take a look at their past looks.

Priyanka Chopra - 2017

Priyanka Chopra’s first ever MET look grabbed a lot of eyeballs for the incredible outfit that she wore. This was also the time when she met her now husband, Nick Jonas. PeeCee donned a khakee coloured off-shoulder trench coat gown with an extremely elaborate train by Ralph Lauren. Black boots, a hair updo, dark eyes and dangler earrings finished off her super dramatic look. The outfit was also subjected to a lot of memes and our dear Chopra Jonas acted like the perfect sport and shared her favourites too on her social media account.

Keeping her spin with Ralph Lauren, Priyanka again went in with his design and boy, he didn’t disappoint. Staying true to last year’s theme - Heavenly Bodies : Fashion and Catholic Imagination, she donned a marsala hued body hugging ensemble with a long train. The outfit also featured heavy beaded intricate work on the shoulder and around the neck. Brownie points for that perfect hair and makeup! We loved the look - head to toe!

Deepika Padukone - 2017

Deepika Padukone was here at the prestigious Ball, courtesy, her Hollywood debut XXX: Return of the Xander Cage. Although Padukone looked mystical in an off-white silk slip dress by Tommy Hilfiger, she received a lot of flak for not abiding by that year’s theme. However, let’s all unanimously agree that she looked divine and that flower crown just made our hearts explode.

Deepika Padukone - 2018

Deepika Padukone was back to the drill and yet again failed to wear anything related to the theme. The actress played it safe by opting for a red one shoulder prabal Gurung gown with a thigh high slit. She like the previous year received a lot of criticism for not experimenting and sticking to the theme. Pulled back sleek hair with silver danglers completed her look.

Well, honestly speaking, we cannot wait to see what this year will have in store for us. If rumours are to be believed then Deepika Padukone will again be walking this year. PeeCee as we already know is definitely on the list.
