Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette plays muse and is now the subject of a brand new Photography book
The cat, who is now a social media sensation thanks to the fashion guru - Lagerfeld, is the star of a new book! Check it out.
The fashion world is obsessed with cats. Gurus including Giorgio Armani, Grace Coddington, Karl Lagerfeld and more have constantly spoken about their love for the feline. The star among them though, is Choupette, Lagerfeld's pet meaning 'sweetie' in French.
The white cat is a Birman breed and has sapphire eyes. The feline was part of a number of Karl's shoots and is known to have been his companion till his death in February 2019. Back in 2017, Lagerfeld even spoke out about his love for Choupette to CNBC. "I never thought I that I would fall in love with an animal like this. You have to see her. You will instantly fall in love with her because she's unbelievable," he had said to the television network.
Choupette is now the subject of a dedicated photography book that is all set to be published at the end of this month! The book is said to be shot entirely by Lagerfeld and revolves around the joy of being a pet owner on an everyday basis. Be it napping or playing inside a cardboard box the cat is the most pampered one in the world since the feline even has a social media handle of its own!
Choupette was also described as Karl as "a chic lady...with her personal maid," she she required a lot of grooming. "There's a lot of things to do - wash her eyes five times a day, to brush her white hair... she's a full time job," Lagerfeld had said. The book even offers an insight into her life including a number of unseen photographs. She even has her own fortune - the inheritence that Karl left her along with royalty from her modelling jobs.
The renowned designer also talked about how the cat changed his life "I think i became a better person. She gives energy, it's very strange. When I have her next to me I feel like a telephone that is recharged," he had said.
