Diet Prada leaks controversial chats with Stefano Gabbana over racist Chinese ad
Dolce & Gabbana have claimed that their Instagram accounts have been hacked
Dolce & Gabbana is back at it again. The luxurious Italian fashion house has always caught themselves embroiled in controversies and seems like they’ve landed in deep trouble yet again. D&G are prepping up for their much-awaited show in Shanghai today. To further create a hype, they’ve been coming up with online hashtags like #DGLovesChina #DGTheGreatShow. However, seems like the fire is burning on the wrong side, as the fashion house has been accused of leaning heavily on the Chinese stereotypes.
Dolce & Gabbana had shared a video on China’s main social media platform Weibo and then on their Instagram page. The video features Asian women who really struggle while eating Italian food like pasta, pizzas and cannolis with their traditional chopsticks. If that wasn’t enough, further in the video, the male narrator asks the Asian model, “Is it too huge for you?” (Okay, then!)

The luxurious house took stereotyping to another level and have offended the Chinese who are left feeling that D&G is making a mockery of their culture. Social media and Twitter has been going berserk, but the latest update will send shock waves not only for the iconic Italian house but also in the fashion industry. Popular Instagram account Diet Prada got in touch with Stefano Gabbana to ask his views about the burning controversy. I think we all are pretty much aware of Stefano’s volatile nature and the following screenshots posted by Diet Prada prove it even further. (This one is a major let down, Gabbana)

Not to our surprise, the screenshots have become extremely viral and definitely for all the wrong reasons. D&G came out and took to Instagram to claim that their accounts have been “hacked” and that they sincerely apologise for it. (Poor cover, maybe?)
With the controversy raking up, the fashion house has decided to cancel their fashion show. What are your thoughts? Comment below and let us know.
