Cannes 2019: Sonam Kapoor’s breathtaking looks from the Cannes red carpet over the years

The Cannes Film Festival is here and has created a stir on the internet amidst all the glam and glitz we saw on the red carpet. The Festival has just started and we could not have been more excited. With some stunning red carpet ensembles, we could say that ‘this is just a beginning.’

The star studded affair sees the who’s who of the fashion and film industry from supermodels Bella Hadid and Alessandra Ambrosio to Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities like Julianne Moore, Elle Fanning, Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut. Adding to that list, the Bollywood fashionista - Sonam Kapoor has also been a regular attendee at the prestigious festival.

For over years now, Sonam Kapoor has an undeniable reputation of being a fashionista. From airports to red carpets, the actress has never failed to prove that her fashion game is always on point. Every year, the Cannes red carpet has been a glorious platform for her to display her best fashion choices and create a trend.

Back in 2014, Sonam Kapoor hit the red carpet in a stunning saree by Anamika Khanna. While the actress walked the red carpet in a new age drape, she received a lot of appreciation for wearing the Indian attire on the global red carpet.

Show stopping and how? In 2013, Sonam rocked the red carpet in a stunning lace saree by Anamika Khanna. Paired with an heavily embellished cape, her nose ring added the perfect amount of drama to nail the look.

The 33-year-old actress did not just stop there. Last year, the newlywed Kapoor Ahuja glided the red carpet in a custom made Lehenga made by her British designer friends Ralph & Russo. The white blouse featured a long sleeve that mimicked a dupatta. Lastly, Sonam styled her look with a centre parted braid accessorised with a traditional parandi.

For her red carpet appearance in 2015, Sonam stole the show in a cobalt blue gown by Ralph & Russo. The actress brought the old, Hollywood charm at the red carpet with side parted curled hair and red lips.

Sonam surely knows how to turn heads and she exactly did that in this gorgeous Elie Saab gown mixed with the perfect amounts of vintage makeup and hair!

With some experimental clothing choices, Sonam also proved that she knows a lot about fashion. She rocked the red carpet in an elegant creation by Ralph and Russo in 2016. While the white gown with OTT sleeves and trail stole the show, she kept her hair and makeup simple and elegant to balance her look.

In 2015, the actress received a mixed bag of reviews for her light yellow Elie Saab gown. But her effortless beauty and confidence is what made the look a solid hit.
