La La Land look decoded: Emma Stone's fashion breakdown

Emma Stone's signature dancing dresses' were simply spectacular. Emma plays Mia in the movie and here's a breakdown of her costumes, so you too can get her look:

1. The Monochromatic Look

This look donned by Emma is such a timeless outfit and can easily be taken from work to a lunch date. There's literally nothing that a classic white shirt cannot be paired with. Take a half sleeve, box fit, white shirt and tuck it into your basic black midi skirt. A broad belt will help break the looks and to keep up the monochrome, by finishing the look with a pair of black pumps.

2. The Classic Cocktail Night

The silk slip dress is a huge trend this season. Pick a well structured one in the right length like Emma's look. Keep the look monotone on by pairing this classy dress with an elegant pair of black pumps and clutch.

3. Splash Colour

Splash color to your boring work by throwing colorful scarves on! Like this turquoise one that Emma picked. It instantly makes this otherwise boring outfit super chic.

4. The Girls Night Out Look

Keep it vibrant at a girls night out in a halterneck, V-neckline midnight blue dress. Balance the look out with a modest length and pair it with strappy sandals.

5. Day Time Date

For a fun, flirty and girly look during the day, pick light hues and bright prints. Such as this white printed midi dress Mia (aka Emma) wore in the film. The best choice of footwear with this dress would be a pair of nude pumps.

6. Jewel Tones

Keep the look rich, fancy and jewel toned. Like this emerald green skater dress. Pair it with dress gold heels and a big pendant necklace to match the jewel tone of the dress. Compliment the look with a nude clutch.

7. The grey skater skirt

While much importance is given to black and white, grey too is quite a classic color.

Emma paired the same white shirt, she had worn with a black midi skirt, with a grey skater skirt. To add some vibrancy to this rather dull colour palate, she carried a red tote and finished the look with ballet flats.

If it's cold and you have to take a pullover the only way to do it is to wear it over a shirt. Layering your sweater over a shirt just adds that extra chic element to your look. Emma wore her's with a pair of basic ballet flats and skinny jeans.

9. The Pink Collared Dress

Striking a balance between feminine and power dressing, this pink dress which was worn by Emma in the movie is just perfect. The flare and colour adds feminity, while the OTT collar adds a powerful touch to the look.

10. Hello, Sunshine!

This is probably the most popular look adorned by Emma in the movie - the yellow printed fit and flare dress. Seeing this dress in the movie, it made us certain that a yellow sun dress is simply a must-must have in every woman's wardrobe!
