It was reported a few weeks back that the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan was started in Hyderabad with almost all the lead actors joining the sets. While there has been no official update regarding the film’s shooting process, actress Arushima Varshney, who will be seen featuring in the magnum opus, shared a behind the screen photo with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as she has a major fan-girl moment with her.

In the photo, Arushima was seen taking a selfie, as Aishwarya was seen posing from her car. Sharing the photo, Arushima wrote, “I couldn't take my eyes off of you on the set @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb mam”. After the photo came up online, fans of the film took to the comments section and posted how excited they are to see it. The makers of the film are expected to make official announcement regarding the shooting process soon.

It has Trisha Krishnan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing the lead roles. Ponniyin Selvan also stars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Karthi in key roles. Other young actors including Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashwin Kakumanu will also be seen playing crucial roles. Veteran actors including Jayaram, Lal, Mohan Raman, Riyaz Khan, Vijayakumar will be seen playing some key roles. Recently, it was reported that ‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi will also be seen in the film in a prominent role. The film’s shooting was brought to a halt when the makers were on the second schedule due to COVID-19 crisis.
