Ponniyin Selvan: I Teaser OUT: Mani Ratnam's historical drama promises spectacle & grandeur all around
After teaser posters of each character, the makers have released the much-awaited teaser of Ponniyin Selvan: I.
Ponniyin Selvan, the most awaited magnum opus by filmmaker Mani Ratnam is creating enough buzz since its inception. After teaser posters of each character, the makers have released the much-awaited teaser and it is nothing short of grandeur. The magnum opus is a cinematic adaptation of Kalki’s evergreen Tamil novel that was serialized in the 1950s.
From the majestic sets to costumes and every intricate detail, you see in the teaser it is dedicated to perfecting the period drama from the Chola Era. The teaser revolves around the power struggle of the Chola empire during the 10th century. The teaser has every bit of Mani Ratnam's touch- 'majestic'. The historical drama will feature celebrated actors in powerful roles, such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as ‘Nandini’, Superstar Vikram as ‘Aditya Karikalan', Karthi as ‘Vanthiyathevan', Trisha as Kundavai, and Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman.
The film's music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with Cinematography handled by Ravi Varman, editing done by A. Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Thota Tharani respectively.

Lyca Productions presents PS-1. Jointly Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, and directed by Mani Ratnam, the film has music composed by AR Rahman. PS-1 is slated for a worldwide release on September 30, 2022, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
