Antony Varghese has signed a sports film called Aanaparambile World Cup. The film is directed by Nikhil Premraj, who has also written the script for this film.
Antony Varghese made a stunning debut in Lijo Jose Pellissery’s film called Angamaly Diaries. The brilliant actor is in no hurry to do films and has been very selective in choosing projects. Currently, the actor is working on two projects. One film is Tinu Pappachan’s Swathandriam Artharathriyil and the other is Lijo’s upcoming film Jallikettu. Now, Antony Varghese has signed a sports film called Aanaparambile World Cup. This film is helmed by director Nikhil Premraj, who has also written the script for this film. The director says that the film is based on football but it also has elements of fantasy in it.
This film will see the actor playing the role of a football player called Hisham. In this film, actor Antony Varghese's character Hisham plays the Sevens tournaments in the state. The director Nikhil Premraj says that the core of this film's story is how the lead character mentors a group of young children and this group ends up playing the U-12 championships managed by a leading football club.
Earlier the filmmaker had worked as an associate director in Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri. While talking about this film, the directors also adds that this sports-based film is based in a fictional village called Aanaparambu. It is a beautiful story set in Kerala where people tied elephants ahead of temple festivals. The director also states that with time this tradition lost its importance. This film will also have actors Balu Varghese, Manoj K Jayan and Saiju Kurup. The film is expected to start its shoot from September in Malappuram.
