England cricket team that were considered to be the favourites before the commencement of the World Cup suffered from two consecutive losses in the on-going tournament. They were defeated by the Lankans by 20 runs and then against the Aaron Finch led side by 64 runs.

However, English cricketer Ben Stokes believes that the team still has their chances are going to win the World Cup. Stokes said that, “Look, everybody’s obviously disappointed in the last two games but, you know, this is our World Cup and we are going to go about it the way we know how we play the best.”

He mentioned that two back to back losses can sometimes make you as a team think differently but they are not going to go away from their method of playing. “That is what made us so successful in the last four years.” He added.

The English all-rounder registered solid 89 runs against the Aussies before getting bowled to Mitchell Starc. He was also the highest run-scorer for the team and helped them deliver a competitive fight in the clash.

Stokes admitted that the team needs to adjust to the situations and then conditions, but they are not for one minute going to take a step backward, especially in the last two group games. He also stated that it is one of the biggest and greatest times to be a cricketer and represent your country at a World Cup.

The hosts will next encounter the Men in Blue at Edgbaston cricket ground on Sunday, 30th June. On talking about the match against India, Stokes said that they have got a great record against India in England but they are in a good form and hopefully England can bring their best game.
