ICC World Cup 2019: Pakistan still in race of semifinals, says Sarfaraz Ahmed after defeat against India
Despite the horrible reign in the World Cup 2019 thus far, Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed is confident of his team finding a place in the final four
Despite a horrible show against India on Sunday, Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed insisted that Men in Green can still go far in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019.
"The defeat against India hurts. Naturally, when you lose like this, your morale goes down but we have to lift ourselves because we are still not out of the World Cup and have to win all our four remaining matches." He said after the match.
Pakistan is currently hanging down the table with three points from five games and now they must win all the matches to stay alive in the tournament. They started the World Cup by losing badly to West Indies, however, made a stunning comeback by pipping hosts England in the second match.
Then in the third one, the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side found themselves in trouble again against Australia while in the last match with arch-rivals, they were completely outplayed. However, despite the uneven reign, the Pakistan captain is confident enough of making it to the final four.
"We know the task is tough and we have to win all our matches so we have no margin of error," He added.
The Men in Green next faces South Africa, who too haven’t been in good touch in the tournament. So, Pakistan can surely get an opportunity to reassemble and come out with flying colours in the upcoming matches.
