Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman almost got FIRED from X Men; Here's why

Australian actor Hugh Jackman has become a synonym to Wolverine. The actor adopted the X-Men role and made it his own for 16 long years before he hung up the claws. We still tear up remembering Jackman's last scene as the Wolverine in Logan. But did you know that the actor almost did not make it to the X-Men universe? Yes, the X-Men movies which took Jackman's career to new heights almost wouldn't have happened. The Aussie actor recently revealed that he was almost fired from the first X-Men movie. 

Speaking with Daily Mail UK, the actor revealed he was told things weren't working out as per plans and he might have lost his first ever big Hollywood gig. He recalls being angry and moaning about the whole incident to his wife. 

"I was told that things weren't really working out as they hoped. I was about to get fired from my first Hollywood movie - the biggest of my career. I was angry, I went home to my wife and I complained. I was whining to Deb, my wife, and moaning about this person and that person," he recalled. 

Jackman revealed that his wife restored his faith in himself. "She listened to me very patiently for about an hour and finally she just said, 'Listen, I think you have just got to trust yourself. You are worrying way too much about what everything else is thinking. Just go back to the character, focus on that, trust your instinct...you've got this.' To me that was love. Someone that believes in you when you don't fully believe in yourself," he added.

Hugh Jackman might have quit as the Wolverine, but there are reports suggesting that Marvel Studios will hunt for a new Wolverine. Fans have suggested several names including Tom Hardy to replace Jackman as the Wolverine. Only time will tell what the future holds for the X-Men character.
