The American Music Awards are all set to get some desi dose this year. The prestigious music awards which are slated to be held on 24 November in Los Angeles will see Indian-origin rapper and singer Raja Kumari hosting the red carpet. This will be a first as Kumari will be the first Indian-American to host the AMAs red carpet, reports stated. Kumari also took to Instagram to share the good news and was ecstatic.

Apart from Raja Kumari, AMA will be hosted by Sofia Carson, AJ Gibson, Jaymes Vaughan, Lauren Jauregui, and Nick Viall. Speaking about it, she said, "Growing up in America, the AMAs were always an exciting night in the house. I would wait all year to see the artists in their beautiful dresses and their incredible performances. It always inspired me to reach for my dreams. Today, I’m the first Indian American to host the pre-show and I couldn’t be prouder. Representing my community while being a part of such an incredible night is an honour."

The announcement was met with equal excitement among fans and artists. The AMAs will see big names from the music industry like Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Kesha feat. Big Freedia, Shania Twain and Thomas Rhett in attendance as well as some performing. It will also be a huge night for Taylor Swift as the pop star will be presented with Artist of the Decade award.
