England vs Afghanistan, World Cup 2019: CSK and SRH engage in banter over Rashid Khan and Jonny Bairstow
SRH and CSK were involved in a friendly banter as Rashid Khan and Jonny Bairstow clashed in the CWC 2019
As the England-Afghanistan game was being staged at the World Cup on Tuesday, IPL franchises Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad were involved in a hilarious banter on Twitter.
As Rashid Khan and Jonny Bairstow - both SRH players - were up against each other in the clash, their IPL team got into the action as well. Bairstow, who scored 90 runs while opening the innings, was applauded by SRH after the end of the English innings.
“With a 99-ball 90, Bairstow was so close to his maiden World Cup century! A brilliant knock nevertheless", was the tweet.
However, Rashid Khan, who is an integral member of the franchise, broke all records as he became the most expensive spinner in ODI history, conceding 110 runs in his 54 balls. Team CSK were quick to pounce on his poor showing as well, and replied to SRH's tweet on Bairstow with a mention of Khan's performance as well.
“That 54-ball-110 would have been painful though!”
The two sides then resorted to a few remarks in Tamil.
