Australia vs Bangladesh, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019: Pat Cummins' battle with Tamim Iqbal one to watch out for
Pat Cummins has been on a role and will have an important role to play against Tamim Iqbal when Australia and Bangldesh clash in the CWC 2019
Australia will meet Bangladesh in Thursday's ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 game. While the Aussies are on a roll with four wins in five games, Bangladesh will be high on confidence after beating more fancied teams like South Africa and West Indies earlier in the competition. The Tigers will be hoping to stage an upset against the defending champions, and a lot of responsibility will be on the shoulders of Tamim Iqbal.
Setting the platform for the middle order, Iqbal knows that he will have a very important role to play at Trent Bridge. Australia possesses a much-feared batting unit, one that is capable of notching up a score of above 350, and if Bangladesh want to compete, they will need Iqbal to get them off to a flier.
He, however, will face a stiff challenge from Australia's seamer Pat Cummins. The pacer has scalped 11 wickets and has bowled at an economy rate of less than 5, which makes him a dangerous bowler. He has formed a lethal pair with Mitchell Starc, and together, they will be looking to send back the Bangla players early on. Cummins, in particular, with his pace and the swing that he has been generating of late will massively disturb Iqbal. Cummins will look to target his rivals' weakness - that against the short ball. Iqbal struggles against pulling the ball, and if the Aussie can find his rhythm early, the Bangladeshis will face a stiff challenge.
