India Vs Bangladesh warm-up match: Key batsman in both the teams
India lost the first warm-up match against New Zealand while Bangladesh couldn't play due to rain. Both the teams will be looking to grab the winning momentum before going into the main event.
After facing a defeat against New Zealand in the first warm-up match, India will meet Bangladesh today in Cardiff. The side had a horrible outing with the bat as they were bundled out on paltry 179 runs by the Kiwis. Later, bowlers also weren’t impressive enough to give Black Caps a hard patch when they came out to bat, hence rewarding them an easy win. For Bangladesh, the first game was abandoned due to rain, so, they are yet to try their luck in these warm-up matches. However, having returned from a good last couple of months, the Bangla Tigers will be full of confidence to conquer India in this match. The Kohli’s men though won’t let it go with ease this time around.
Meanwhile, the contest is going to give fans some exciting moments as both these teams are eager to get to winning ahead of the World Cup. Let’s see who are the key batsman for both these sides today.
Virat Kohli
When it comes to the Indian cricket team, how can we aside Virat Kohli? The batting heavyweight is always in the limelight, be it for his heroics with the bat or the aggressive moves he makes on the field. With World Cup a couple of days away, Indian fans have large expectations on Virat. He, however, didn’t find the best of the starts in the last warm-up game against New Zealand. The Indian skipper was bowled out by part-time pacer, Colin de Grandhomme, leaving everyone in shock. He would be now very desperate to score runs today against Bangladesh and get back the rhythm ahead of the first World Cup encounter.
Tamim Iqbal
Experienced campaigner, Tamim Iqbal is the backbone of Bangladesh batting line-up. Whenever he scores runs, the Men in Green triumphs most of the time. He is enriched with the skill of driving everything that is pitched up and wide of the off-stump, and it doesn’t matter where and which opposition he plays against. Pertinently, the 30-year-old has strong legs. The Mashrafe Mortaza-led side would be hoping that Tamim finds the form against India today, so the task becomes easier for them to get an upper hand in the match.
