Darsheel sees his father Mitesh Safary as his inspiration, who was also a successful actor. Darsheel was one of the highest-paid child actors. Darsheel was spotted by Amole Gupte for the audition of Taare Zameen Par. During the shooting of the film Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan paid for all the educational expenses of Darsheel.
