Service Wali Bahu: Payal chooses call of duty over her engagement
So far in Service Wali bahu, we had seen Jogeshwar Prasad and his greedy family taking every precaution to avoid the elder daughter-in-law of the house – Gulkand – learning about Dev and Payal’s tie-up. They even make sure that Payal’s family is kept in the dark about Dev’s professional background and other family matters.
Dev grabs a chance to spend some time with Payal on the pretext of giving her lift to her home. Upon reaching Payal’s residence, he gets pulled up mildly by her mother Indu. She requests him to avoid meeting Payal till they get married as such meetings are not perceived well by the society. Dev humbly apologises to Payal’s mother and leaves without any qualms or grudges. Payal’s sister Neelu feels bad for Dev and argues with her mother for imposing such restriction on the couple. Indu chides Neelu for being too big for her boots and commands her to stay out of the matter.
Later, to fasten the process of Dev and Payal’s marriage, Jogeshwar Prasad fixes a date for their engagement.
Now, let’s see how the story progressed of late. So, in the recent episode, we saw the Prasad family arriving at the Devi temple to offer prayers on the day of Dev and Payal’s engagement. While washing his feet before the darshan, Jogeshwar Prasad sees Gulkand visting the temple with her sister-in-law. He hides himself by borrowing a blanket from the beggar to avoid getting caught by Gulkand. At the temple, he creates a commotion with his wife Santoshi and daughter Guddi to get out without being discovered by Gulkand. Finding a ripe moment, the Prasad family gets into the car and drives away.
On the other hand, Payal gets urgent summons from the Commissioner who cancels her leave and orders her to attend an urgent meeting. While Payal’s mother whines about the urgent call of duty, her father Bhuvaneshwar Rai asks her to finish her work and return home soon.
At work, Payal gets stuck as her senior loads her with more tasks. Payal excuses herself for a minute and dials Dev’s number to inform about the urgency of her work. Dev assures her that he will manage his family and asks her to go ahead and complete her office task.
Finally, the Prasad family reaches Rai residence and sweet-talks with others. Payal’s would-be MIL – Santoshi – checks out Indu’s jewelry and the simply decorated house and inwardly looks down upon the humbleness of the Rai family.
