Kratika Sengar, who is getting back in action after almost three years, has opened up on reports about her replacing Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia in Choti Sarrdaarni.
Color TV’s Choti Sarrdaarni starring Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia and Avinesh Rekhi has been one of the most loved shows on Indian television. While the show has been getting rave reviews since its inception, there has been a buzz that Nimrit will soon be replaced in the show. In fact, the media reports suggested that Kratika Sengar will soon be filling her shoes in the show. The reports of Kratika replacing Nimrit surfaced after later took a break from Choti Sarrdaarni. However, Kratika has put the rumours to rest and stated that she isn’t replacing Nimrit.
In fact, the actress stated that she wouldn’t have taken up the show if she had to replace the female lead. She also heaped praises for Nimrit’s performance as Mehr and said that she has played the character beautifully. Talking about the same, Kratika told TOI, “I am not replacing Nimrit, but playing a new character. I wouldn’t have taken up the offer had they approached me to replace the original protagonist. She has played the character so beautifully that I wouldn’t want to step into her shoes.”
Meanwhile, while fans are concerned about Nimrit’s exit from the show, a source has reportedly told TOI that the actress has taken a break due to health issues and is still a part of Choti Sarrdaarni. “She is very much a part of the show and we will try to accommodate her via phone calls. We needed a popular face for an upcoming track and that’s how Kratika came into the picture. We don’t know how long the cameo would last. We will plan the future track once Nimrit recovers and resumes shooting,” the source added.
