Star Plus To Remake Everybody Loves Raymond...And You Heard It Here First

One of America’s most beloved sit-coms is being turned into a desi affair. Star Plus is bringing Everybody Loves Raymond to India in a Hindi avatar.

While the project is currently being kept under wraps the pilot has already been shot and the series is now being cast.

Some of television’s topnotch names have already been signed to helm the hefty adaptation.

Says a very reliable source close to the project. “The casting is on. Ronit Roy is likely to play the title role while. Vindoo Dara Singh has been signed to play Raymond’s brother.”

Rajit Kapoor the brilliant director of Aankhon Dekhi, has been roped in to direct the desi avatar of Everybody Loves Raymond.

Says the source, “The remake of the serial would be original yet attached to the original series. Everybody Loves Raymond had run in America for a good 9 years. It has a very strong recall value for fans of the original. However Star Plus wants to create a whole new fan base among the non-metropolitan viewership for the Raymond saga.”
