Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani: Raj Mata asks Gayatri to do “Jauhar” if Ranaji gets defeated in sword fight by Avdesh Singh!

There is no relief for Ranaji and Gayatri even after getting rid of the nasty Badi Rani Ma (Surekha Sikri) in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani.

Soon after Badi Rani Ma was banished from Amerkot to the palace of Rangoon for life, Ranaji was attacked and abducted by his enemies. Gayatri donned the warrior queen avatar and sought out with the royal army to rescue her husband.

However, the twist in the tale was the arrival of Avdesh Singh Chauhan, who salvaged Gayatri from getting killed during the battle with the enemy forces. So while, Gayatri managed to free Ranaji from the clutches of the enemy, Avdesh was left infatuated by her beauty. Now, Avdesh is no one other than an old enemy of Ranaji’s clan. The rivalry dates back to the time of Ranaji’s great grandfather who fought an epic battle with the forefathers of Avdesh to claim the land of Amerkot. In the battle, Ranaji’s grandfather won and established their rule on Amerkot. However, the Chauhan could not accept defeat and begrudgingly sowed seeds of hatred against the Royal family of Amerkot in the heart of their future generations.

So, Avdesh has grown up to usurp Amerkot and now has his eyes set on Gayatri as well!

How much this reminds us of Alauddin Khilji’s insatiable lust for Queen Padmini of Chittor!

Anyway, coming back to the developments in the show, Ranaji has accepted Avdesh’s challenge for a sword fight which will decide the ruler of Amerkot. If Avdesh, who will resort to unfair means, succeeds in killing Ranaji in the sword fight, he is sure to get his dirty hands on Gayatri.

But, it is unlikely for things roll out the way Avdesh wants because Gayatri may give up her life by embracing the age-old practice of Jauhar (self-sacrifice) to save her honour at her mother-in-law Raj Mata’s (Anita Raaj) behest.
