PINKVILLA EXCLUSIVE: Check out who killed Mohit Rathi in Diya Aur Baati Hum!
So far in the show, we had seen Sandhya’s brother-in-law Mohit (Varun Jain) getting killed in a drunken stupor on the day of Lalima’s (Shefali Sharma) engagement. Sandhya and her police team find Mohit’s dead body in a well and take note of the wounds on his back. Sandhya gets on her toes to crack the murder mystery with the help of her new colleague Satyadev known for his wacky sense of humour. Meanwhile, the Rathis learn about Mohit’s death and the whole family goes into mourning. Mohit’s daughter Pari, who was as miffed with her philandering and abusive father, as her mother Emily (Pooja Singh), suffers a shock after the news breaks out. She is sent for psychological help by the Rathis so that she comes out of the trauma soon. On the other hand, Mohit’s girlfriend Komal runs away from her home to avoid police interrogation and getting caught in the whole investigation. However, she writes a note with her lipstick on the mirror to leave a clue for the police team. As soon as Komal steps out of her place, Emily steps in and erases a portion of the message left behind by Komal. Once Sandhya and Satyadev visit the place, they find the clue tampered with, but conclude that a female member of Mohit’s family is the main culprit.
On the other hand, Emily is seen showing signs of nervousness as Sandhya goes about with the investigation. Satyadev suspects Emily of being the murderer, but fails to find proofs against her.
Now, before Sandhya cracks the case, we have already done the needful for you! The person who killed Mohit is none other than his own young daughter Pari. Since, Pari was already upset with the poor treatment meted out by father Mohit on Emily. In all likelihood, she must have taken the drastic step to kill him action to get herself and her mother rid of his torments for good. And Emily seems to be hiding the clues because she wants to save Pari from getting caught and entangled into legal issues. This also explains why Pari did not react at all when everyone told her about her father Mohit’s demise – she is the culprit and is in a state of shock having been committed the crime without any serious intention or perhaps, Emily wants her to be away from investigation lest she get caught!
