Friendship Day 2019: Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Shyam Pathak: We have become an extended family

Friendship Day is being celebrated worldwide today and many Bollywood and TV celebs have been taking to their respective social media accounts to mark the occasion and wish their fans and pals. Actors of popular and one of the long-running shows Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have also shared their favorite moments and thoughts on friendship. Shyam Pathak, who plays the role of Popatlal in the show said that he believes that friendship is one of the greatest and strongest bonds two individuals share.
He said, "Working for the past 11 years, I think we all have not just grown as friends but have become like an extended family for each other. I pray that the show crosses many more milestones and the family of TMKOC stays together like this forever. Happy Friendship day!"
Ambika Ranjankar, who plays the character of Komal Hathi in the show said for the women of TMKOC, every day is friendship day. She stated, "Oh, come on! Every day is Friendship Day for us women – Mahila Mandal of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. We all are BFFs and our on-screen love and affection for each other are equally true in real life. It is just getting better and wiser each day."
Kush Shah aka Goli revealed, "We have grown up together and have been seeing each other since a very young age. The friendship among the Tapu Sena is as strong in real life as in reel life. We spend a lot of time on screen as well as off-screen. Not just on the 4th of August, we celebrate friendship day every day. All the team members of TMKOC are dear to me and I value each of them very much in my life."
Speaking about the show, the series recently completed 11 years of running and they had a grand celebration as well on the sets. TMKOC is one of the most-watched sitcoms and TRP charts are proof of the same. The show brings in light vital social issues.
