Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is currently seen in The Kapil Sharma Show, is being criticised left, right and centre over his insensitive remarks towards to the Pulwama terror attack which took place on Thursday. Following the attack, Navjot during a media interaction said, “For a handful of people, can you blame the entire nation and can you blame an individual? It (the attack) is a cowardly act and I condemn it firmly. Violence is always condemnable and those who did it must be punished."

Reacting strongly to it, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the channel [Sony] has decided to sack Navjot from The Kapil Sharma Show. A realiable source informed us that the production has been informed about the decision [to sack Navjot]. We further learnt that Kapil along with his team were reportedly going to shoot for another episode tomorrow which has now been postponed till a replacement is found. Reportedly, Archana Puran Singh is in talks to replace Navjot on the show.

The decision was taken after Twitterati started trending Boycott The Kapil Sharma Show over Singh's comments. On Thursday, February 14, 2019, more than 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives in a terrorist attack which took place in Awantipora, Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. A car carrying more than 350 kg of explosives rammed into a bus of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, causing a blast. The incident has led the political parties to put up a united front as they vouch to tackle the issue of terrorism together.

This is not the first time the channel has taken a stern action. Earlier, during the Me Too movement when former Indion Idol judge Anu Malik was accused of harassment, he was asked to leave the show in a prompt action. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured that the sacrifice of the soldiers won't go in vain.
