Ever since Sony TV in a statement has confirmed that its longest running show CID will be taking a three-month temporary break and will air its last episode on October 27. Twitterati have been protesting since then asking the channel to not take this step as they continue to love the show which stars Shivaji Satnam and Dayanand Shetty in pivotal roles.

Dayanand Shetty, who plays the role of Daya, on the show has come down heavily on the channel and has said that he feels this is surgical strike on the show. In an interview with Tellychakkar, he said, ‘Who is going to wait for three months or even more than that? The crew members have some or the other work, so I am sure no one will wait for so long. Since we have stopped shooting, there are many people in our team who have already begun working elsewhere. If good opportunities knock on your door, who is going to wait? I believe it will be very difficult to bring back the same team post the break."

He added, "There should be an ultimate motive. You can’t choke CID this way. This is not the first time that something like this has occurred. Few months back, they stopped telecasting the episodes all of a sudden for almost two months, and the viewers weren’t even informed about the same."

He stated that this is not the first time something of this sort is being done to CID. He further elaborated, "This is like a surgical strike. Surgically, they have eliminated the show, and it’s happening for the past two years now. In May 2016, the entire month they didn’t telecast any episode. We had shot for a bank of episodes, but still, they didn’t air them. Suddenly over the weekend, we used to come to know the show is not been aired. Fans regularly send us the screenshots and inform us how some other shows are playing at the time when CID needs to be telecast. So now, the producers have taken a stand and they have stopped the shoot of the serial."

Do you agree with him? We will really miss watching Daya breaking the doors on the small screens.
