Longest running show, CID to go off air following differences in between makers?!
It's astonishing that the investigative TV show CID has been on the air for the past 18 years and fans are still glued to it on weekends. It is produced by Fireworks Productions for Sony TV.
But lately, the buzz in Telly Ville was that it would be going off the air. In recent developments, according to a popular entertainment portal, there are apparently a lot of creative differences between the channel and production house in regards to its functioning.
As per reports, the channel held a meeting at a plush hotel in Mumbai a few days back, with the leading cast of the show, Shivaji Satam (ACP Pradhyumn), Aditya Srivastava (Abhijeet) and Dayanand Shetty (Daya) to know whether they would continue with the show if a new producer was brought in.
“All the three actors refused to continue, given the proposed change. And this actually came as a dampener to the thoughts of the channel to keep CID surging ahead with a new producer,” a source informed the entertainment portal.
Now, the buzz has it that the channel and production house are likely to meet and the end result will be very crucial for CID's future.
The source further said, “There are lot of possibilities that can crop up in the meeting. The worst scenario will be of the long-running cop based show going off air. Also, if the two parties arrive at a creative solution, the show might get a time shift to an evening slot over the weekends. However, all these are just probabilities as of now, with nothing yet decided.”
When senior actor Shivaji was asked about it, he denied the meeting and said, "All is fine in CID. We are shooting as we do always. So I do not know from where the problems have been arising."
