Sahil Salathia gears up for his movie; plays the role of an HIV positive!
One handsome hunk of Telly Ville who believes in taking up only quality roles which will create an impact on the viewers is Sahil Salathia. Last seen in Ashutosh Gowariker's Everest, the actor did not take up any projects after that. The reason he states is that he wanted to do quality roles and not take a decision hastily. Well, proving his point right, the actor landed himself in a movie focusing on the HIV infected.
While talking exclusively to us about his project, Sahil sounded happy and content! "The name of the movie is 'There will be Tomorrow' and has been directed by Bhushan Gaur. I play the role of an HIV-positive guy." While talking about why this one is different from the other HIV-oriented movies made, he states, "It does NOT revolve around the stigma over HIV in the country and globally. Rather deals with how HIV is no more the deadly disease and can be treated just the way other diseases are treated. It's to give a ray of hope. It doesn't mean that if you have been infected with HIV, then one's life is over; there is still how you can live. I mean, if one can afford the right medication and has the emotional support from the family and friends, the idea of a happy and normal life is not impossible!!! It is a very hard-hitting film but has its own light moments as well." The best part about the movie Sahil feels that it recently got screened at the HIV Congress in Goa. It was also awarded by the Governor of Goa and the movie will soon be globetrotting! "Once the rounds of film festivals are done, then they will be releasing it for the audience!"says Sahil.
While talking about the preparations gone into portraying the not-so-easy role, Sahil says that he has done an intense research over the topic. "We have actually shot in some real hospitals where I got a chance to talk to the doctor, and you know there were doctors who specialized in this field. So for the scene where I come to know that I am HIV infected, talking to these people made me portray my expressions better. I have read a lot and a lot about HIV. I have done a lot of detailed research on this virus ever since I took up this role. Sometimes I feel that I could probably be an HIV specialist now!"says the actor laughingly.
Sahil says that he wants to stick to his thinking of doing meaningful roles and not take up any project for the sake of glamour! While talking about his absence from the screen for over a long period of time, Sahil says, "I hadn't taken up any projects after Everest because I really wanted to do something that has great content; something similar to this movie that I have done. It is high on quality. When I took up acting, I had decided to play characters that were worth being played and not just for the sake of working. I wanted to play a character which had an impact, which would be challenging! For me, this movie was a great great opportunity which I grabbed!"
Meanwhile, the actor will also be seen in a full-fledged Hindi movie. While shedding some light on his future endeavor, the engineer turned actor says," Yes, I am doing a Hindi movie but I cannot talk much about it much now. But yes, it's a movie with full masala. I am excited about it and it will release this year itself. I have finished one segment, and the other segment will start soon. It is an interesting part altogether."
Well, afterall patience and perseverance help to make it big in life!
