Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s sequel is allegedly coming next year

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is certainly one of the most popular games in the franchise’s history. Released in 2007, the original Call of Duty game saw massive success in the industry. It made sense when the franchise’s publisher Activision released the reboot of the game in 2019, which saw the highest sales number in the Call of Duty history. That said, Activision is now reportedly planning to launch the successor of Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s successor is in the works and coming soon

According to Tom Henderson, who has correctly leaked details of the Call of Duty series, claims that next year’s Call of Duty game is currently in development. The game is in the works under the codename Project Cortez. Furthermore, the source claims that the 2022’s COD game will be a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It’s worth mentioning that Project Cortez also appeared in a data-mined list of GeForce Now games a few days ago. Infinity Ward was listed as its developer, who also made the previous Call of Duty game instalments.

Unfortunately, the tipster hasn’t revealed anything else about the sequel of Call of Duty Modern Warfare. However, some reports indicate that Modern Warfare’s sequel will be featuring a campaign, which will involve the United States Special Forces going through a covert war with Columbian drug lords. We can expect the rumour mill to reveal some more details regarding the upcoming Call of Duty game in the near future, so let’s wait and watch.

The latest in the COD series, Call of Duty: Vanguard will be available soon

Call of Duty: Vanguard is the latest entry in the franchise, which will be launching on November 5th. The next open beta of the new COD game will be available to the public on September 18th on all platforms. The game will be releasing on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S gaming consoles. COD Vanguard will be available in three editions – Standard, cross-gen bundle, and ultimate.
