James Anderson ruled out of Ashes 2019 after failing to recover from calf injury
Anderson, who had played the first Test against Australia earlier this month, had been able to bowl only 4 overs in that game, before being ruled out of the next two games with a calf injury that he suffered during a county game.
England fast bowler James Anderson has been ruled out of the remaining two Ashes games after experiencing considerable pain in his calf during a practice match between Durham and Lancashire second XI.
Anderson, who had played the first Test against Australia earlier this month, had been able to bowl only 4 overs in that game, before being ruled out of the next two games with a calf injury that he suffered during a county game. However, it was hoped that he could make a comeback to the team for the fourth Test that begins from September 4 at Manchester.
However, he experienced pain during the four-day game again, and was eventually ruled out. Somerset's Craig Overton was added to the team for the fourth Test in his place.
