Love sarcasm? This is why it’s a great language to learn

Oscar Wilde said, “Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit but the highest form of intelligence”. Counsellors usually ask people to stay away from sarcasm and not use it as a form of communication in relationships. It tends to cause a gap between relationships and add bitterness and angst to it instead of resolving conflicts. Sarcasm can also be a cause of communication gap and relationship troubles if not used properly. Expressing yourself using sarcasm is nice as long as it’s not offensive and hurtful. Don’t use sarcasm in fights and don’t taunt.

Sarcasm brings out your creative side and your wit. Sarcasm is a great way to express disapproval and contempt in a funny way. It makes expressing negative emotions in a positive and humorous way. It keeps your mind working and sharp. Sarcasm is the opposite of the literal meaning of what you say. It’s a sign of a creative and healthy brain. It also helps you understand the level of tolerance people have and helps you pick out people who can handle your wit and sarcasm without being offended and laugh it off instead or respond with something a little snarkier. Sarcasm is also known to lighten up a situation when thing turns too hot to handle. It can ignite a spark of humour and calm things down in a stressful situation. Sarcasm in its own way is a form of street smartness. It also helps build up more tolerance in people and helps them grow as a person.

Sarcastic people are usually sharper and smarter than most of the other. It helps you evolve as a society. The millennials love sarcasm and maybe we get it from our mothers. After all, they are the ones who are known to be savage. All of us have been burnt with savage insults from our sarcastic mothers instead of the flying chappal. Our mothers have slayed us with their wit and we literally have no comeback for it. And we need to teach the next-gen some sarcasm just the way our parents taught us.
