Diwali 2019: Celebrate Diwali by spreading the love with your good deeds
Diwali is the festival of love and peace and prosperity. This festival should be celebrated with a lot of pomp and splendour but sharing some love and indulging in some good deeds is a better way of celebrating this Diwali
Diwali is nearly everyone's favourite festival. The festival of lights and peace and prosperity. This is the festival when we get to see beautiful decorations and lights and all the pretty diyas and candles. This is when the world lights up their homes and ensures that they all look amazing. It's the time of the ear when we clean out our homes and redecorate. This festival is one of the most important festival in our Indian culture that celebrates the victory of good over bad and light over darkness. We celebrate this festival with lights and sweets and new clothes and firecrackers. But over the years we've gone a little overboard with crackers and celebrations. Our festival has turned into a hazard over time and this needs to change. We all need to start celebrating festivals in a more responsible manner and be a little more mindful. We need to celebrate by indulging in some good deeds and spreading love and happiness around us instead of thinking of ourselves only. We need to celebrate by learning the art of giving. Here are some responsible and good ways of celebrating Diwali this time.

1. We all buy new clothes and we clean our homes during Diwali cleaning so, why not clean out our closets and donate our old clothes or the clothes we don't want to need to those who need it. It might not be a big deal for you but for someone who does not afford the luxury of buying new clothes may feel the joy of wearing something new because you donated something. Donate old toys and utensils and books and anything else that you don't use or need.

2. Don't eat those delicious sweets and food alone, share it with the poor and hungry. Donate food and sweets. You can cook some food and sweets at home and step out to feed the poor. Let them have a full stomach when they go to bed at this festival.

3. Go green this Diwali and burst balloons instead of firecrackers. Plant a few trees instead of bursting crackers and reduce pollution. Celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali.

4. Help the stray animals stay safe. Open up your home to them and let them have a night of peace. If you can do that volunteer with some NGO and help any strays in need. Allow them to take shelter in your parking area and keep bowls of water and food for them.

5. The birds come in contact with a lot of pollution and this is a very difficult time for them. Keep a bowl of water in your balcony and a bowl of any sort of seeds or lentils for them to eat. It allows them to take a break and hydrate which may save a few lives.

6. Spend time at an old age home or an orphanage and celebrate this festival with those who need some love and attention and care and they will be thankful for it.
