The five-day festival is almost upon us and the binging on sweets and traditional delicacies to heart's content goes hand in hand but it inevitable disrupts the health of the gut. 1. Drink adequate amount of water
Most of us forget drinking adequate amount of water to keep oneself hydrated as dehydration can disrupt the smooth function of the gut. Water helps to create softer and makes the stool bulkier and with the same it doesn't constipate you.
2. Eating on time
During the festival season, we either skip meals or have meals on weird hours and this can negatively affect your digestive system. If you want to keep your digestive system healthy make sure you eat your meals on time.
3. Skip smoking, caffeine and alcohol
During the festive season try and avoid smoking, excess caffeine and alcohol as the same can lead to an ailing gut. Keep your gut healthy and happy by skipping these as they have a negative impact on digestion. To keep your gut healthy, one should include green tea, salads, fruits and veggies as well as you savour Diwali sweets and delicacies.
4. Do not skip exercise
We know that it doesn't feel like exercising when it is some festival but ideally to take care of your health one should indulge in regular exercising. The same also helps to prevents constipation, gastric or ulcer issues.
5. Intake of fat and sugar-laden food items
Festival calls for indulgence especially unhealthy binging do take place and the same are high in fate and sugar as the same leads to a lot of health issues including digestion.
