Are you a pawrent? Here are some laws you need to know
It’s important to know and understand your rights if you are a pet parent. Here are some rights you and your pet child have that people may be violating.
Pets are a part of your family. Having a pet is like having a baby. Being a pawrent can be tough and societies make it really difficult for people to have pets. They make their own rules and regulations regarding pets. In fact, it becomes very difficult for people to find a house on rent if they are pet parents. Societies also don’t allow people to feed strays around their areas and relocate strays as per their convenience. By doing so they break a lot of rules that most people are unaware of. Here are a few rules all pet parents should know.
1. No resident welfare association or society is allowed to people from owning pets. They normally pass a rule banning pets via majority votes but it still remains illegal to pass such a rule. Pets cannot be banned from any society. Societies cannot limit the number of pets that a person can own. They also cannot pass any rules or regulations regarding the size and/or breed of the pet that people are allowed to keep. All sizes and breeds can be owned by any person living in any society provided that they follow the rules put down by the municipality or animal welfare association regarding pets.

2. Pets cannot be banned from lifts and elevators. No society can impose a ban or fine on any person using the lift or elevator with their pet. They cannot charge any extra charges either. A separate lift/elevator can be allotted for the pets.

3. Societies cannot ban pets from gardens or parks. They can allot separate time for the pets but cannot stop them from using the garden or park. Doing so can open them up to a lawsuit.

4. No society can force any person to use a muzzle for their pets. They can insist upon a leash for the safety and comfort of all the people of the society but they cannot insist upon the use of a muzzle in public places or otherwise.

5. No society can intimidate any person to abandon their pet. They cannot threaten any person with an evacuation notice. They cannot force someone to give up or abandon their pets. By doing so they are violating the law and can be punished for the same.
