World Cancer day 2020: Ovarian Cancer symptoms you shouldn't ignore

World Cancer day 2020: Cancer is one of the deadliest diseases globally. In spite of the technology being so advanced, one cannot combat cancer always. Cancer is not only physically exhausting, but it also affects us emotionally and mentally. When it comes to women, one of the most common types of cancer that affect women after breast cancer is ovarian cancer. And unfortunately, the symptoms of ovarian cancer are not specific. Hence, this leads to a delay in detection, which then not only increases the risk but also leads to cancer spreading in our other parts of the body.

Hence, the best way to protect women from this is to make them aware of the various signs that can cause this horrendous disease. Even if you wouldn't need it, you still should be aware of these signs.

These signs will help you understand if or not you have ovarian cancer.

1. Lower back pain

Pain the lower back is a very common symptom of ovarian cancer. But if the pain transmits a lot to the pelvic area, then you should visit your doctor immediately.

2. Frequent urination

The constant urge to pee may lead you to assume that you have UTI- urinary tract infection, but it can also be more serious than you think. If this urgency to pee continues for a while, then head straight to your doctor without waiting anymore.

3. Fatigue

Yes, fatigue can be caused if you don't have a good night's sleep, or you don't include enough greens in your diet. But feeling fatigued and low on energy almost daily is not a good sign and one should consult the doctor in this case.

4. Nausea and vomiting

Frequent nausea and vomiting indicate that there's something wrong with your body. And they are often correlated with ovarian cancer and should not be taken lightly.

5. Sudden weight gain or loss

If you lose weight without dieting or you gain weight without changing anything in your diet, then that's not a good sign. You should get more cautious since sudden weight gain or loss is also one of the signs of ovarian cancer.

6. Abdominal swelling or bloating

If your clothes are specifically tight around the lower body, especially from the hip and waist, and you also feel bloated and full of gas frequently, then don't ignore the sign; if you feel something is weird then visit the doctor right away.

7. Loss of appetite

Ovarian cancer impacts metabolism and leads to a loss of interest in eating food. If you are not feeling good about food, or don't even feel like indulging in your favourite dessert, then you should start watching out for other accompanying signs of ovarian cancer.

These early warning signs may not invariably occur together, and may not necessarily be symptoms of ovarian cancer. However, being aware is the best weapon to combat cancer.
