High blood pressure which is also known as hypertension is one of the common health issues and unfortunately, the number of hypertension cases are increasing by the day. If left untreated then it can trigger other health complications such as heart, brain, kidney and eyes disorders. For the unversed, the pressure of the blood against the blood pressure if higher than normal then the same should be treated. Apart from medications, one can also follow home remedies and simple lifestyle changes as the same can bring down BP levels to safe levels. 

Some of the common ones are reducing the intake of salt, increasing the consumption of fruits, veggies, potassium-rich foods, decreasing the intake of alcohol and smoking as well. One of the best ways to keep high BP in control and prevent it is physical activity. If you are a high BP patient then you should reduce weight and make sure you indulge in some form of activity as the same improves the blood vessels. 

1. Cardio exercises

Cardio and aerobic exercises are one of the best physical exercises as they enhance the flow of the blood. These exercises lead to burning of good amount of calories and promote the health of the heart as well. So, one should include brisk walking, dancing, jumping ropes, swimming, cycling, jumping jacks and dancing among others.

 2.Strength training
Many people think strength training or resistance training is only for bodybuilders but that is a myth. The same is good for your muscles and bones and also helps to lower BP. Start with light weights and make sure to learn from professionals as forms and postures are of utmost importance. 

3. Household chores
Household chore such as cleaning, gardening and other household work can help you to increase heart rate and lose unwanted calories too and in the long run, it helps to keep BP in check.

4. Climbing stairs
Instead of taking lifts and elevators, one should go for stairs as the same has a positive impact on the body especially blood pressure.

5. Active sports
If you love sports then here is good news. One can go to basketball or tennis and other sports for positive results.

How often to workout? Make sure you do 30-minutes of workout every day. Also, make sure to warm-up and cool down to prevent injuries. As per the Department of Health and Human Services, one should get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity every week.
